I work in Industrial upkeep, is attempting to progress a fantastic notion?

We have a two year degree in elctrical and mechanical maintenance. I like my present-day occupation a whole lot, but I’m concerned that over the subsequent number of a long time jobs on this discipline will become fewer and less using the present loss rate of manufacturing careers ! I am extremely diversified in my abilities mechanics, pnuematics, hydraulics, electrical, machining, PLC’s and CNC’s. !!!

Is this career heading to be value investing additional education inside the decades to come back? Would specialized certifications, for instance ISA”s CIMM, IFPS’s CFPPM, or electronics education be valuable or should I just commence instruction in an additional area? Simply because I function a rotating shift engineering and engineering technology, though the most likely options, are out of your query. I’ve an interest in a computer vocation, but would this as well be a dead end field within the decades to return?

Thanks upfront to your Helpful advise and comments.

Running machinery, high tec, has been pretty good pay for a number of years now !

I work at a manufacturing plant. Maintenance mechanics are in very high demand, and they always will be!

If you like computers, focus on your PLC skills. Automated machines have a nasty tendancy to break down at the worst possible moments.

Some of our mechanics make over $100,000 a year, with overtime. The supervisors make about $80,000.

Focus your job searches on refineries, large chemical manufacturing plants and food manufacturing.
